Just before Jameis was drafted to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he decided to take a quick break from football and try a different type of thrill. Jameis came to San Diego to work with world renowned quarterback coach, George Whitfield Jr. While in San Diego, he decided to ride a Water powered Jetpack at Jetpack America. We caught up with Jetpack America employees and spoke with them about the experience.

Jetpack America is the only rental facility that uses a 2-way communication helmet so that the Instructor can talk to the person flying and coach them throughout their flight. We asked Jameis why he chose to go Jetpacking, and he simply said that it’s something that he always wanted to try.

“As a huge football fan, I was absolutely thrilled to instruct such a talented athlete”, said his Instructor. We were told that when it was time for Jameis to strap in the Jetpack and do some flying, he was nothing but confident – and it showed. “He did incredibly well” said his instructor, and you can absolutely tell from the footage that Jetpack America shot of the event. “Jameis LOVED the underwater submarine manuever – he couldnt get enough of them”.

By looking at the video of Jameis flying, you can absolutely tell that he had a blast at Jetpack America. “That dude is a natural born athlete, his coordination and physical awareness are insanely good – and that’s exactly what it takes to fly high on the Jetpack your first time”, said Jon Statman, Lead instructor at Jetpack America.

At the end of the day Jameis said that he wanted to bring his teammates out for a teambuilding exercise, “I can’t wait to instruct his fellow athletes. If they are anything like Jameis, they will kill it!”
